About us

Hey, I’m Coach Khai. After graduating LSU in the fall of 2000, I started my career as a PE teacher and coach for a local high school within the Jefferson Parish Public School System. My wife, Yen and I have two sons, Abram and Noah. When Abram was born in 2013, I temporarily hung up the coach’s hat and whistle. By the time Noah was born in 2014, we had rolled out every sports ball you can imagine. When they began playing at Girard Playground in the summer of 2020, I dusted off the hat and started coaching again.

Coaching is a passion inside of you that never goes away, it rises up like a river and overflows to all of the players. From the high school players to my sons’ classmates from school, their teammates from the playground, and our neighborhood friends, coaching burns like a fire in me!

Why send my boys to another summer camp, when I can use my time and talents to teach our next generation of young people how to elevate their game in sports and in life.

Thus, Elevate Sports was born.
